The Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, gave a brief speech before inviting the guest of honor at the 2024 Academic Convocation held at the Main Campus in Dar es Salaam today, November 6, 2024.
During the convocation, top-performing graduates from various programs were recognized and awarded as a way of congratulating them and motivating current students to put more effort into their studies.
Among other topics, Prof. Tandi also discussed the importance of nurturing innovative students. She noted that, since 2022, the college has been encouraging innovative students to enroll in the ‘business incubator’ program. So far, around 412 students have joined and initiated various business projects, which are currently at different stages of development. For the 2024/2025 academic year, approximately 240 students have already joined, and the college continues to encourage others to participate.
"At CBE, we nurture their dreams by teaching them and bringing in various experts, as well as enrolling them in national and international competitions to prepare them for the economic and social challenges they may face after graduation. This year, we participated in competitions organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology held in Tanga," said Prof. Tandi.
