The Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, has stated that CBE places significant emphasis on addressing any form of harassment towards students. She emphasized that if a student encounters such a challenge, they should report it to the appropriate authorities so that timely and appropriate action can be taken.
Prof. Lwoga made these remarks on October 31, 2024, while responding to a question during a meeting with students at the college's main campus in Dar es Salaam. She stressed that the college's goal is to ensure a safe environment for students to study.
“We are not only leaders but also parents. If any form of harassment occurs, whether inside or outside the classroom, please report it to the Dean’s office. We have a Student Gender Desk where you are also welcome to seek advice. Here at CBE, we do not tolerate any form of harassment within the college environment,” Prof. Lwoga stated.
She added that the college is prepared to provide support in both academic and social matters to help students fulfill their educational aspirations. She also discussed exam regulations, stressing that the college will not tolerate any form of cheating in exams.
On his part, the Director of Academic Support Services, Dr. William Gomera, representing the Deputy Rector (Academics, Research, and Consultancy) Dr. Nasibu Mramba, said that the college has a strong partnership with the Student Government, which has been effectively representing students’ views, challenges, and advice to the administration. This collaboration has enabled the college to continually improve its services.
