
The Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Dinnis Londo (MP), has praised the College of Business Education (CBE) for its uniqueness in providing education in Measurements and Standards, saying that the institution has become a major source of experts in the sector. Hon. Londo made these remarks on May 20, 2026, in Dodoma during the World Metrology Day celebrations, where three institutions under the Ministry of Industry and Trade joined together to showcase their activities, with CBE being recognized for offering education in this field.
“I congratulate the College of Business Education (CBE) for being the only institution in Tanzania and in the East and Central African region offering training in metrology. Many experts working in measurement institutions graduated from CBE, and I encourage the college to continue producing more professionals to meet the needs of the nation,” said Hon. Londo.

On her part, the Rector of CBE, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, explained the various achievements of the institution, noting that CBE has continued to grow in infrastructure and human resources while also increasing the number of professionals graduating each year. Prof. Lwoga said that many lecturers from the institution are continuing their studies in different countries around the world in order to increase their knowledge and improve the quality of education being provided. She also explained that the college continues to offer training at different levels, while two Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) curricula are ready to begin implementation.
Prof. Lwoga also highlighted the progress of constructing the modern Metrology Complex building at the Main Campus in Dar es Salaam, which, once completed, will make a major contribution to strengthening the measurements and standards sector in the country. In addition, Prof. Lwoga thanked the Ministry of Industry and Trade under the Sixth Phase Government led by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, for continuing to support and closely work with the institution in its efforts to strengthen education and produce experts in the measurements and standards sector.
