Mr. Ligonja said that staff are required to reduce unnecessary expenses so that the remaining amount can be invested in production in order to save money in preparation for retirement.

Financial instructor Mr. Osward Urassa teaching staff of the College of Business Education, Dar es Salaam Campus, how to prepare for retirement while in public service. Mr. Urassa said that staff are required to start preparing a budget and set aside income for self-employment of at least 20 percent each year before retirement. Furthermore, Mr. Urassa added that staff are required to have at least five sources of income before retirement in order to save enough, as well as to consider income, health, and proper use of retirement benefits.

The training held on March 31, 2026 was organized by the Human Resources and Administration Department to equip staff with the ability to save and invest in preparation for retirement.
