PROF. LWOGA OUTLINES ACADEMIC AND INFRASTRUCTURE ACHIEVEMENTS AT CBE PRESS BRIEFING

The Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, addressed journalists on March 2, 2026, at the college in Dar es Salaam, outlining the significant strides the institution has made in the areas of academics, infrastructure, research, and consultancy. Prof. Lwoga expressed her sincere gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for prioritizing the education sector, as well as to the Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Kapinga (MP), for her visionary leadership, which has contributed to the college’s notable achievements.

She further explained that CBE has adopted a practical training system through an Apprenticeship model, whereby students will study in the classroom for one semester and spend the following semester gaining hands-on experience in real work environments. While speaking to journalists, she also noted that in order to reach more qualified applicants for Master’s degree programs, CBE has improved its curricula and now offers Master’s programs through an online mode of delivery (online master’s programs).

Prof. Lwoga concluded by calling upon Tanzanian youth and those from neighboring countries to join the College of Business Education (CBE) to obtain quality education that will prepare them to compete effectively in the labor market both domestically and internationally.

Concluding the press conference, the Deputy Rector (Planning, Finance and Administration) of CBE, Prof. Emmanuel Munishi, provided clarification on student admissions. He stated that the college has continued to demonstrate significant academic growth, with student enrollment increasing from 10,634 in the 2020/2021 academic year to 24,957 in 2025/2026, representing a 135 percent increase over five years. Prof. Munishi explained that this 135 percent growth reflects the strong public confidence in the quality of education offered by CBE. He emphasized that the institution’s training focuses on practical learning aligned with the 2023 Education Policy and the demands of the labor market both within and outside the country.
