
The Deputy Rector (Academic, Research and Consultancy) of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Robert Mashenene, on behalf of the Rector, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, officially opened a seminar for leaders of the Student Government (CBESO) held on February 26, 2026, at the Dar es Salaam Main Campus. The seminar aimed to build the capacity of leaders who are approaching the end of their term of office so that they may become exemplary leaders in the areas they will serve after completing their studies.
Prof. Mashenene emphasized that the leaders should take the leadership training they are receiving seriously, noting that many high-ranking government leaders began in platforms such as these and eventually became important leaders in the nation. The seminar, organized by the Directorate of Student Services at CBE, covered various topics including critical thinking, leadership ethics, good governance, emotional management as a leader, and legacy leadership.

During the seminar, the Deputy Rector (Planning, Finance and Administration) of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Emmanuel Munishi, delivered a session on the role of critical thinking in leadership to CBESO leaders at the Dar es Salaam Main Campus on February 26, 2026. He explained how leaders should analyze issues objectively, consider diverse perspectives, and make decisions that benefit the entire student community.
Additionally, Prof. Munishi elaborated on the importance of questioning existing assumptions, using evidence in addressing challenges, and balancing differing interests within leadership systems. His presentation enabled CBESO leaders to gain an understanding of accountable leadership grounded in sound arguments, ethical decision-making, and strategic approaches to solving leadership challenges.

The seminar also included a session where student government leaders of the College of Business Education (CBE) followed guidance from the Deputy Rector (Academic, Research and Consultancy), Prof. Robert Mashenene, representing the Rector, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, during the official opening of the seminar for CBESO leaders.
