Convocation Event - 01st December 2025

CBE Holds Academic Convocation as Part of 60th Graduation Celebrations

The College of Business Education (CBE) held an Academic Convocation on December 1, 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Main Campus as part of the celebrations marking its 60th Graduation Ceremony. The Guest of Honour at the convocation was the Acting Director General of the Fair Competition Commission (FCC), Ms. Khadija Ngasongwa. During the event, Ms. Ngasongwa advised the CBE Management on the use of an internal vehicle service system developed by the ICT and Accounts Department, noting its importance in improving service delivery. The Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Research and Consultancy, Prof. Robert Mashenene, officially introduced various guests who attended the convocation, which brought together graduates from different academic levels, scholars, and stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, the Rector of CBE, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, highlighted the College’s contribution to business development in the country. She noted that more than 4,200 businesspeople have received free training in various areas as part of CBE’s efforts to enhance business knowledge. Prof. Lwoga further added that since 2022, over 700 students have presented innovations that are being supported and developed by the College to reach implementation stage and contribute to national development.

In her keynote address, Ms. Khadija Ngasongwa encouraged graduates and scholars to focus on innovations that address social challenges. She emphasized that many global innovations have been major sources of wealth creation and economic growth. She also urged graduates to value the education they have received and use it as a foundation for developing practical solutions that respond to community needs.

The convocation concluded with the awarding of certificates to outstanding participants, presented jointly by the Guest of Honour, Ms. Khadija Ngasongwa, and the Rector of CBE, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga.


 

Graduation Event - 02nd December 2025

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Hon. Dr. Hashil Abdallah

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Hashil Abdallah, speaking at the 60th graduation ceremony of the College of Business Education (CBE) held at the CBE Main Campus in Dar es Salaam. The ceremony took place at the Mlimani City Conference Hall on December 2, 2025, in the city of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Hashil Abdallah congratulated CBE for introducing a business incubation program that helps students gain practical learning experience and build themselves as entrepreneurs who will create jobs and contribute to the national income. He also emphasized the importance of patriotism, integrity, and maintaining national peace, noting that the success of more than 6,000 students graduating this year is due to peace, improvements in the education sector, and an increase in government loans for higher education students. The Guest of Honor at the ceremony was the Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Kapinga, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Hashil Abdallah.

 

Governing Board Chairperson - Prof. Zacharia Mganilwa

The Chairperson of the Governing Board of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Zacharia Mganilwa, speaking at the 60th graduation ceremony of CBE at the Dar es Salaam Main Campus. The event was held at the Mlimani City Conference Hall in Dar es Salaam on November 2, 2025. Prof. Mganilwa said that the Board has made sure the college’s leadership systems follow openness and accountability in all decisions, while protecting the interests of the college and its stakeholders.

 

Rector - Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga

The Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, spoke at the 60th graduation ceremony of the college. The event was held at the CBE Main Campus in Dar es Salaam, at the Mlimani City Conference Hall, on December 2, 2025.

Prof. Lwoga said the college is continuing to grow its partnerships within Tanzania and with other countries. She explained that CBE has improved its courses from bachelor’s degree to postgraduate level by working with institutions from Finland, China, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, and Italy.

She added that since 2016, CBE has been organizing international conferences on business and economics. This year, 101 research papers were presented, and more than 150 publications were produced by staff and students. This has helped improve the college’s reputation internationally.

The Guest of Honor at the ceremony was the Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Kapinga, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Hashil Abdallah.

The award was presented by the Chairperson of the College Governing Board, Prof. Zacharia Mganilwa, in the presence of the Rector of the College, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga.
