Prof. Lwoga Leads Panel on Gender Equality and Digital Access at Research4Life Conference



Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, the Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE) and the Vice Chair of the Research4Life Executive Council, moderated a panel titled “Towards Gender Equality, Digital Access, and the Advancement of Women in Science Spotlight Talk” at the Research4Life (R4L) Conference at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford, on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

Different presenters participated in the panel, including Alessio Muscarnera, a Research Fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), who presented a paper on “Digital Access to Knowledge and Women in Science.”

Other speakers included, Dr. Miriam Linda Akeriwe, Research4Life Country Connector in Sunyani, Ghana, and University Librarian at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Nasra Gathoni, Co-Chair of Research4Life’s Equity Committee, Senior Instructor, and Faculty of Health Sciences Librarian at Aga Khan University, Kenya. Dr. Bintu Ndusha, Associate Professor at Université Évangélique en Afrique and Research4Life Country Connector, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

“Together, we explored the barriers, breakthroughs, and bold ideas shaping the future for women in science,” said Prof. Lwoga.
