
Directorate of Students’ Services Hosts Induction Seminar for New Student Leaders
On 30th June 2025, the Directorate of Students’ Services at the College of Business Education (CBE) successfully conducted an Induction Seminar for newly elected and appointed student organization leaders.
The seminar was officially inaugurated by Dr. Nasibu Mramba, Acting Rector, who extended his congratulations to the new leaders and delivered an insightful keynote address.
Key Highlights from Dr. Mramba’s Address:
- Curriculum Updates: Seventeen academic programs have been reviewed to better align with current labor market demands. Additionally, a new Double Degree Program with the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), China, is set to launch in the coming academic year. This initiative will allow selected students to study for two years at CBE and two years at SWUFE, with limited enrollment available.
- Examination Procedures: Examination rules have been fully automated. Students are now required to request exam postponements prior to the start of examinations.
- Leadership Expectations: Student leaders were reminded to uphold the highest standards of conduct and to serve as role models by strictly adhering to institutional rules and regulations.
- Election Year Conduct: Emphasis was placed on responsible behavior during the election period, with particular attention to maintaining professionalism on social media platforms.
Following the Rector’s address, Prof. Emmanuel J. Munishi, Deputy Rector (Planning, Finance and Administration), emphasized the importance of the seminar as essential preparation for student leadership responsibilities.

The seminar aimed to equip the new student leaders with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation necessary to lead their peers and contribute meaningfully to the CBE community.
