On June 20, 2025, the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Exaud Kigahe, arrived at the Dar es Salaam Campus of the College of Business Education (CBE) to attend the climax of the Forum on Enhancing Employment Opportunities and Sustainable Development for Tanzanians. He was received by Prof. Zacharia Mganilwa, Chairperson of the CBE Governing Board, and Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, Rector of CBE, along with other leaders. Hon. Kigahe attended the event on behalf of the Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Selemani Jafo (MP).
During the forum, Hon. Kigahe, accompanied by Prof. Mganilwa and Prof. Lwoga, toured various exhibition booths and engaged with entrepreneurs showcasing innovative ideas and sustainable business ventures. The exhibition was part of the ongoing Forum on Sustainable Employment Opportunities organized by CBE.
In her remarks, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, Rector of CBE, shared the background and origin of the Forum. She explained that the idea stemmed from a proposal by Hon. Dr. Selemani Jafo (MP), and that the Forum is in line with the Sixth Phase Government’s agenda to strengthen vocational education for sustainable national development.
Prof. Zacharia Mganilwa, Chairperson of the CBE Governing Board, also addressed the forum participants. His contribution emphasized the role of higher learning institutions in supporting sustainable employment initiatives and aligning academic programs with national development priorities.
In his keynote address, Hon. Exaud Kigahe, representing Hon. Dr. Selemani Jafo, commended CBE for organizing the Forum. He emphasized the importance of strengthening employment systems through practical training, entrepreneurship, and partnerships between the government, academia, and the private sector.
