The Customs and Business Education Tax Association (CBETA), a student organization at the College of Business Education (CBE), has officially launched its constitution to serve as a guiding framework for the association. The launching ceremony was held today, May 10, 2025, at the Dar es Salaam campus.

Speaking on behalf of the Guest of Honour during the event, Tax Officer from the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Gimson Swai, stated that through this constitution, CBETA has adopted a new outlook focused on leadership, accountability, and sustainable development.
“Vision without foundation is merely a dream; but a vision that is written down and governed by a solid constitution becomes a legacy for future generations,” said Mr. Swai.

On her part, CBETA President Ms. Martha K. Kilagi emphasized that CBETA believes in the power of knowledge, youth solidarity, and true patriotism.
“This association is the product of long-standing efforts by committed students to build a strong foundation for tax knowledge and promote voluntary tax compliance as a tool for national economic development,” said Ms. Kilagi.
CBETA (Customs and Business Education Tax Association) was established in November 2022 with a strong vision to educate and raise awareness on tax matters among CBE students and the broader community.
