CBE LAUNCHES NEW DEGREE PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS EMPLOYMENT CHALLENGES

The College of Business Education (CBE) has continued to enhance various academic programs designed to address employment challenges in the country by introducing two new offerings: the Bachelor of Business Administration (Double Degree) and the Bachelor Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions Management with Apprenticeship.

Speaking during a press conference today, September 14, at the Dar es Salaam campus, the Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, stated that the Double Degree program is the first of its kind offered in the country. Under this program, students will study for two years at CBE in Tanzania and two years at SWUFE in China, earning degrees from both institutions upon graduation.

"This program will enable graduates to acquire the skills needed to effectively plan, lead, and manage local and international businesses, while also preparing professionals with international experience," said Prof. Lwoga.

Prof. Lwoga further noted that the college has established the Bachelor Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions Management with Apprenticeship to leverage digital technologies in solving various challenges, taught alongside a practical hands-on apprenticeship model.

On his part, the Deputy Rector, Prof. Robert Mashenene, stated that during this academic year, CBE will begin offering opportunities for students and individuals with new innovations to participate in programs aimed at nurturing and commercializing their ideas.

"CBE will continue to collaborate with BRELA across its four campuses—including Dodoma, Mwanza, and Mbeya—by providing training and encouraging young innovators to enter the business sector," said Prof. Mashenene.

Additionally, the Director of Research, Publications, and Consultancy at the college, Prof. Nasibu Mramba, noted that CBE continues to conduct research aimed at identifying and solving business, economic, and developmental challenges in the country, with 129 research projects completed last year.

"Seven research projects are currently ongoing and are expected to be completed in January. These include studies on cross-border trade at the Tunduma border, the cocoa market, commercial fishing in Lake Victoria, women entrepreneurs in mining sites, and grape farming in the Central Zone," said Prof. Mramba.
