During the period under review, the Directorate of Students’ Services organized a joint meeting to discuss amendments to the CBESO Constitution. The meeting took place from 23rd to 27th June 2025 and was attended by Deans of Students/Social Welfare Officers from each campus, the Head of Legal Services, CBESO leaders from each campus—including Presidents, CSP Speakers, Chairpersons of Judicial Organs, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, the Chairperson of the Constitution Committee, and Ministers responsible for Constitution and Legal Affairs.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed feedback collected from the College Students’ Parliaments, which reflected a wide range of student opinions and concerns regarding the current CBESO Constitution. These views were presented and debated by all participants to ensure that the proposed amendments would address the needs and interests of the student body effectively. As a result of these discussions, a draft amendment was prepared with the intention of enhancing governance, representation, and disciplinary procedures within CBESO. This draft will be presented to the Students’ Parliament of each campus for further deliberation and approval. The draft will be submitted to the College Baraza for broader consultation before being forwarded to college management for final review and implementation.
