During the period under review, the Directorate of Students’ Services at Mwanza Campus organized an Awareness Seminar on Reproductive Health. The seminar was held on 15th May 2025 and was facilitated by Mr Frank Deus (SRHR Advocate) and Ms Anitha Dotto Samson (Director) for Hope for Youth Development Organisation which was attended by 136 students The seminar focused on raising awareness about critical aspects of reproductive health, including:
- Understanding Reproductive Health:
- Sexual and Reproductive Rights: Emphasis on making informed and respectful decisions about sexual behavior.
- Family Planning Methods: which include use of condom, contraceptive pills, abstinence etc
- Sexually transmitted infections, types, how they are transmitted, Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and cure for STIs
- Menstrual Hygiene Management:
- Youth-Friendly Health Services: Information on where and how students can access confidential reproductive health services.
