During the period under review, the Directorate of Students' Services at Mwanza Campus organized an awareness seminar on Cyberbullying for students. The seminar was held on 21st May 2025. A total of 158 students attended. The session was facilitated by Mr. Dossantos Mwakyoma, Assistant Inspector of Police and alumnus of CBE Mwanza. The major aim of the seminar was to educate students on the dangers of cybercrime. Key Topics Covered were:
- Hacking of personal or institutional data systems.
- Identity Theft – using someone’s personal information to create false identities for personal or group gain.
- Email Scams – fraudulent emails meant to deceive or manipulate recipients.
- Incitement or Insulting Authorities – spreading inflammatory content or disrespecting high-ranking officials online.
- Blackmail with Images – threatening to release compromising photos or videos unless a demand is met (e.g., for money).
- SIM Card Misuse – registering or using SIM cards under someone else's name without their knowledge.
- Lost Phone Abuse – losing your phone and having your SIM card used for criminal purposes.
