Awareness Seminar on Personal Finance Management

The Directorate of Students’ Services at CBE Dar es Salaam organized an eye-opening seminar on personal finance management, led by Mr. Albinus Majula, Assistant Lecturer at the College. The seminar was held on 6^th May 2025 and a total of 181 students attended.

The majior aim was to empower students with practical knowledge and real-life skills on how to manage income, control spending, and plan for a financially secure future.

Among others, the session was packed with useful insights, including:

• Introduction to Personal Finance – Why managing your money matters
• Budgeting & Planning – How to set goals, make a budget, and stick to it
• Motives for Holding Money – Understanding why we save and spend
• Banking & Financial Services – Choosing the right financial tools
• Smart Spending – Being a savvy consumer and knowing your rights
• Debt Management – How to handle debt and avoid financial pitfalls
• Investing Basics – The earlier you start, the better
