Awareness Seminar on Stress Management  at Mbeya Campus

The Directorate of Students’ Services at Mbeya Campus organized an awareness seminar on Stress Management for Academic Success, which was held on 24th November 2025. The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Betuna, a Medical Doctor from Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital.

The main objective of the seminar was to enhance students’ awareness, knowledge, and practical understanding of stress management in order to promote mental well-being and support academic success.

The seminar covered the following key thematic areas:

  • Meaning and sources of stress among college students, including academic pressure, examinations, financial challenges, and time management issues
  • Physical, emotional, and psychological effects of unmanaged stress
  • Stress management strategies and coping mechanisms

Students were introduced to practical stress management techniques, including:

  • Proper time management and study planning
  • Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep
  • Seeking social support and counselling services when needed
  • Practising relaxation techniques such as deep breathing and positive thinking

Students actively participated by asking questions and sharing personal experiences, which enhanced their understanding of stress management and promoted positive coping strategies.
