Deputy Minister Londo Urges CBE Students to Take Pride in Their Education at the 2026 Career Fair On May 29, 2026, the College of Business Education (CBE) hosted the climax of its annual Symposium on Enhancing Employment Opportunities and Sustainable Development for Tanzanians, widely celebrated as Career Fair 2026. Graced by the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Dennis Londo, as the Chief Guest, the event was guided by the theme: "Innovation and Skills for Youth; The Foundation of Business and Industrial Growth in Tanzania." The Call for Practical Skills and Innovation Addressing the students, Hon. Londo urged them to fully utilize the training opportunities provided by the college to acquire knowledge that will benefit their future lives. He emphasized that today’s world no longer relies on youth armed solely with academic certificates. Instead, it demands: Practical skills and hands-on knowledge Creativity and innovation Work discipline The ability to leverage technology to build competitiveness in the job and business markets Hon. Londo assured the audience that the government, through the Ministry of Industry and Trade, continues to create a friendly environment for youth to participate actively in production, business, entrepreneurship, and industrial development through various economic empowerment policies and programs. "We emphasize the growth of small, medium, and large-scale industries, the use of locally produced goods, and building the capacity of youth to participate in the industrial value chain through entrepreneurship education, technology, capital, and markets," stated Hon. Londo. Accolades for CBE's Achievements The Deputy Minister commended CBE for organizing the Career Fair, describing the platform as a vital bridge connecting education with the job market, commerce, and industries. He noted that it gives youth a chance to learn from experts, showcase their innovations, access information on opportunities, and build professional networks. Furthermore, Hon. Londo expressed his satisfaction with CBE's recent milestones, notably securing the 10th position in the national ranking of higher learning institutions—an achievement heavily driven by research publications in both national and international journals. He also lauded the institution for its ongoing infrastructure improvements, highlighting the construction of the metrology building, which has reached 99% completion in its first phase, alongside various other campus developments. A Vision for Self-Employment and Institutional Quality Adding to the discourse, the Chairperson of the CBE Governing Board, Eng. Prof. Zakaria Mganilwa, reaffirmed that the college will continue to strengthen its quality, accountability, and collaboration with stakeholders. This ensures that CBE's programs effectively address national needs across sectors such as business, entrepreneurship, management, finance, technology, and life skills. Prof. Mganilwa challenged the youth to use the Career Fair as a platform for self-discovery. He urged them to actively seek self-employment opportunities, innovate new products and services, utilize technology, and collaborate with peers, rather than waiting passively for formal employment. Additionally, he issued a call to action for stakeholders to sponsor the upcoming 9th International Academic Conference (9BEDC 2026), scheduled to take place in Mwanza from October 22–23, 2026. The conference aims to present academic research findings from both domestic and international experts. Bridging the Gap Between Classroom and Market On her part, the CBE Rector, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, elaborated on the significance of the symposium. She noted that its establishment aligns perfectly with the Sixth Phase Government's commitment to enhancing entrepreneurship and innovation education as a means to boost youth self-employment. Prof. Lwoga emphasized that the Career Fair is a deliberate effort to link classroom education with the actual demands of the job market and industrial sector. Through this platform, students have the valuable opportunity to listen to expert presentations covering a wide array of topics, including: Career development strategies The banking sector and financial management Entrepreneurship and business incubators Economic empowerment and business registration Technology, innovation, and emerging job opportunities As an annual event, the Career Fair provides students with a rare and crucial opportunity to interact directly with employers, institutional heads, and leaders from both the public and private sectors. Ultimately, it equips students with the practical ideas, skills, and real-world market experience needed to thrive outside the classroom.
CBE's Alumni Breakfast
The College of Business Education (CBE), today May 04, 2026, has met for a brief event with its graduates from 1965 to 2025. Speaking at the event, the Head of the College of CBE, Prof. Edda Tandi, said graduates who are in various parts of the country can be a help in supporting the efforts of CBE to provide quality business and entrepreneurship education in the country. She said that those graduates are good ambassadors of CBE to the society in general. “CBE graduates have the ability to provide a major contribution academically, economically, through networking, and strategically by creating a solid system of those graduates in order to help each other and help their peers who are still continuing with studies, thus being important pillars of development for the institution and society in general”.
