Apprenticeship Hub

Apprenticeship is a form of training programme that combines formal education in educational institutions with substantial work-based learning in companies or other workplaces to prepare candidates for specific roles within a particular occupation. It is a dual training model structured in such a way that apprentices (students) spend part of their time at the College and the rest with the employer. The assessment tests both academic learning and occupational competence developed through on-the-job and off-the-job training.
Objectives of the Apprenticeship Training Programme
The purpose of apprenticeship is to produce practically oriented graduates that meet the job-related competencies required in the labour market. Additionally, it serves as a link between the College and various employers.

The specific Objectives of the Apprenticeship Training Programmes Are To:
☞    Enable apprentices (students) to get hands-on/real-life experience they are expected to work in when they graduate;
☞    Provide an opportunity for students to apply the principles and techniques theoretically learnt to real-life problem-solving situations;
☞    Develop student understanding of work ethics, employment demands, responsibilities and opportunities;
☞    Enhance and strengthen linkages between CBE and various stakeholders as well as potential employers.
