 Personal statement Haji is an assistant lecturer (Economics) at the College of Business education (CBE), Mbeya Campus. He is an Agricultural economist by profession researching on Land economics and governance, Climate change and sustainability, Agricultural and rural development, Agri-food systems, smallholder farming systems and livelihoods. He has worked in a number of dynamic projects on land economics and governance systems that support secure and equitable land access, livelihoods and responsible governance of tenure with the goal of eradicating poverty, food insecurity and encouraging responsible investment at local, regional and global levels. He is currently a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics at Sokoine University, Tanzania, researching on innovative approaches to addressing the conceptual and methodological flaws on land tenure formalization impact assessments in the context of Tanzania.

History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
