Concept: Kaizen is a Japanese management methodology and philosophy meaning “Change for the better” or “Continuous improvement”. It is being applied in Tanzania for improving the quality and productivity of our industries and services.

Name of Project:
Strengthening Manufacturing Enterprises through Quality and Productivity Improvement (KAIZEN) in the United Republic of Tanzania Phase 2 (August, 2017- July, 2020)

The Role of CBE in the Kaizen Institutional Framework in Tanzania:
CBE is one of the Kaizen Service Providers (KSP), others being SIDO and Private Consultants. Under the Ministry of Industries, Investment and Trade (MITI), our role is to disseminate Kaizen knowledge through training and R & D to individuals and enterprises. CBE looks to MITI (in general) and Tanzania Kaizen Unit (TKU) at the Ministry (in particular) for close support and guidance.

For several years now, CBE staff both teaching and non-teaching have received training in Kaizen as implementers and some as future trainers.

Through Kaizen, CBE is well positioned to contribute to the national goal of becoming a middle income country by 2025 and help our nation to achieve sustainable industrial development and thus achieve sustainable economic development and reduce poverty in Tanzania.
