Basic problem intended to solve:
Lack of Academic Writing Skills, Lack of knowledge on how to manage reviewers’ comments scientifically, Access to high quality journals is challenge to many academicians
Expected Outcome:
 Ability to produce well written scientific paper, engage with academic texts, construct academic sentence, paragraph, and stories. Make good academic presentations.
 Demonstrate critical reading and analytical skills, including understanding an argument's major assertions and assumptions, and how to evaluate its supporting evidence.
 Ability to manage reviewers’ comments successfully, access and publish in high quality journals, refrain from predatory/ fake publishers/ journals.

 Principles of good writing
 Tricks for writing faster and with less anxiety
 The format of a scientific manuscript,
 Use a range of reading strategies to appraise and engage with academic texts
 Summarize, synthesize, and reference information from discipline-specific sources
 Identify and analyze elements typical of academic genres and their rhetorical functions;
 Sequence sentences and paragraphs into a strong, coherent argument; and Dealing with complex sentences
 Reflect on own and others' writing; and Personal feedback on academic texts
 Use spoken academic English in discussions and presentations.
 Publish in high quality Journals
 ABC of predatory/fake/bogus journals
 Reviewing: Principles, tips, guidelines, conflicting, do and don’ts
 How to review peers work (Before you begin, managing your review, Structuring your review, After your review)
Expected participants: Postgraduate candidates, researchers, lecturers
Duration of the Course:3 days

Resources needed: Laptop, manuscript/thesis 

Course Fees:
The course fee of TZS 150,000 (for Tanzanians) or US$ 75 (for foreigners) covers costs of facilitation, training materials (stationery and other consumables), venue and light refreshments during session. Participants/clients are expected to meet their transport costs to and from the venue, accommodation, healthcare and other allowances if applicable for participants. History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act.


The origin of the College of Business Education (CBE) is closely linked to the history of the Nation itself.
