LONG DISTANCE BUS SERVICE ATTENDANTS TRAINING



On January 15, 2024, the Guest of Honor, District Commissioner of Ilala, Hon. Edward Mpogolo, representing the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila, officially launched training for long-distance bus service attendants, including those traveling to neighboring countries. The event took place at the College of Business Education (CBE).

Hon. Edward Mpogolo, speaking on behalf of the Regional Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the college's leadership for the opportunity and commended them for the successful organization of the training. He emphasized the importance of this education for long-distance bus service attendants in enhancing road safety during journeys. He explained that the education would help them earn respect and provide excellent service similar to their counterparts in the aviation industry.

Prof. Edda Lwoga, the College Principal, clarified that the practical training would be conducted over 10 days, with 6 hours of training each day. She added that the college is one of two institutions in the country providing training for long-distance bus service attendants. The training will be conducted in the national language to facilitate attendance by individuals of all backgrounds.

Representing the Director-General of LATRA, Mr. Johanes Kahatano, explained how the training would assist bus service attendants in addressing challenges such as handling accidents and delivering quality service to passengers. The opening ceremony was attended by leaders from various institutions, including the police, government representatives, and transportation stakeholders.

The training launch was attended by representatives from various organizations, including Mr. Johanes Kahatano representing the Director-General of LATRA, ACP Michael Deleli representing the Regional Police Commander, Mr. Abdallah Muhamad Kiongozi - Chairman of the Taboa, Mr. Pilli Kaku representing the Chief of Fire and Rescue, Mr. Mapana - CEO of BASATA, Mr. Erick Foya representing the Director-General of TRC, Mr. Innocent Matulu representing the Director of TAZARA, representatives from CRDB, representatives from Web Corporation, as well as representatives from bus companies and members of the media.
