CBE AND WMA COLLABORATION



On August 29, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer of the Weights and Measures Agency, Ms. Stalla Kahwa, met with the Acting Rector of the College of Business Education (CBE), Prof. Tandi E. Lwoga, at the headquarters of the Weights and Measures Agency. The discussions aimed at advancing the field of metrology within the College. The College has maintained a longstanding collaboration with the Weights and Measures Agency in Tanzania.


During the discussions, the two leaders deliberated on strategies to enhance the Metrology and Standardization program at CBE. They acknowledged the significance of this discipline in equipping students with skills for accurate measurement and the verification of product and service quality. Emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration between the College and the Agency to ensure that the education provided aligns with the demands of the job market and adheres to national and international standards.


Prof. Tandi E. Lwoga conveyed the College's commitment to producing graduates proficient in metrology. She underscored the necessity of investing in human resources and infrastructure to foster the growth of this academic discipline. Ms. Stalla Kahwa concurred with this perspective and pledged collaboration from the Weights and Measures Agency, aiming to continually produce skilled professionals in the field of metrology.
These discussions reaffirm the shared intention of both CBE and the Weights and Measures Agency to strengthen their educational partnership and equip students with skills that meet national and international standards. This collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of products and services produced in Tanzania, contributing to the country's economic growth.
